I specialize in making HR compliance practical. I love the challenge of diving into something totally new, wrapping my head around it, and resurfacing again to bring clarity out of the chaos. I help organizations strategize, work through conflict, build efficient processes and vibrant teams. I have over a decade of experience navigating state and federal changes to sick and safe time, paid family and medical leave, the Affordable Care Act, I-9s, ERISA, and more. I consult with teams under 10 and over 1,000 employees in corporate, financial, nonprofit and faith-based organizations to implement HR best practices in ways that foster a positive workplace culture and advance the organization's mission.
My approach is driven from a deep value to do things well, to get rid of wasted effort and time, and instead use that energy to build up what really matters. HR is all about putting structures in place that allow workers to be effective, and ultimately advance the goals of the organizations they work for. I'm passionate about building healthy relationships between employees and employers, both for the wellbeing of the workers, and strength of the organizations they work for.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor excursions with my kids, reading and rock climbing.
